About the Model:

The crane is 9ft 4ins (2.85mtrs) high, and weighs 156 lbs (71 kgs). 8 motors move the crane on wooden rails. Another four 12v d.c. motors provide power for slewing, luffing, main and auxiliary hoist. All movements are remotely controlled through multi core cable. The construction follows closely that of the prototype. All main components are made up of reinforced hollow sections, as against the usual Meccano trellis work construction.

The crane is the winner of the 2004 International Society of Meccanomen Michael Adler Founder's Prize."
