Trap Motor

Before we look at the next 'Single Rotate' device I thought I should say a few more words about the motor that drives the movement of the 'Cage Trap'. This is shown in the pic and is a very powerful geared motor that I picked up at MW Models some years ago. The 'Cage Trap' itself moves up and down by means of a rotating screwed rod and a trapped nut in the top of the cage. With the gearing of the motor it was found that the screwed rod rotated a little too slowly and had to be geared up. I first tried a 50 tooth contrate and a 1" gear but found this was still too slow and needed to substitute a 25 tooth gear for the 1" gear. I then found I couldn't remove the 1" gear without unbolting the motor from the decking! So I left it on and put the 25 tooth gear on top of it. So if your wondering what the 1" gear is for, that's it, nothing!
