This pic just about shows the 3h x 3h x 1h Flanged Plate mentioned in the last posting and can be seen slightly to the right of the lower white ball. The weight of the pink ball on the sloping plate plus the couple of other balls above it and inside the cylinder, is sufficient to keep the white ball pressed against the guard rail for its journey around the base.
