Triumph Herald Chassis-- Built by Roland Jaggard

Front Suspension

Various Spanners suggested small differentials that could be used that would fit within the confines of bush wheels and a 1.5" x 5.5" flexible plate. One was a "bolt" diff as featured in MM January 1951 pg31. I built the bolt diff and although it ran reasonably smoothly via the crown wheel input, any half shaft input resulted in a very jerky drive. If all shouldered bolts are used in the spiders they catch on each other and substitution of set screws only improved things a bit. One could, I suppose, use shortened threaded or pallet pins.
